When you start your journey to more self-love, the first step is getting to know yourself. Who are you on a deep level? What are your needs? What are your desires, your longings? What are your dreams? What do you want to achieve in your life?
And at the same time, it’s also about finding out what is actually stopping you from going after your dreams?
Self-Discovery Is An Inner Process
What causes you to neglect yourself – your body, mind, emotions, and spirit? In short, self-discovery means finding out what your desires, your needs, and your longings are, as well as what is holding you back in life. You become aware of your mindsets, beliefs, your daily thoughts about everything and everyone, such as the environment, society, and life in general. You become aware of your daily choices and why you make them. Do you make the choice for yourself or to fulfill somebody else’s needs or demands? Do yo make your choices out of love or out of fear?
The best way to work with questions like that is to sit down in a quiet space and let yourself relax. Take a few deep breaths, totally focusing on your inhale and exhale. Then ask yourself the questions. Here are some examples of typical self-discovery questions:
Ask The Right Questions
Asking the right self-discovery questions is a powerful tool to get to know who you really are, challenge false beliefs and mindsets about yourself and the world, and get clear about what you truly want for your life. We’ve all been programmed and conditioned by our early childhood experiences and the society we grew up in. This unconscious programming is responsible for the way we live our lives, and we hardly ever question whether these beliefs and programs are serving us. More often than not, they don’t. Asking the right questions is one of the best ways to discover what is stopping you from having the life you were meant to live and help you understand what changes you need to make. Self-discovery is not really about searching for who you are, and it’s also not about finding yourself; it’s rather about uncovering who you truly are at your core being and reconnecting with your true self.
